Carrie specializes in community engagement and helping agencies develop partnerships for collective impact. She has a Degree in Secondary Education as well as Certification in Nonprofit Management from Southern Oregon University. She has worked with nonprofit organizations during her entire career and has a life-long passion to improve community health. Carrie has training in DEI, Collective Impact, and Appreciative Inquiry.

Her work with AllCare Health led to her overseeing all Community Benefit Initiative grants and leading the Community Health Improvement Plan work and organization for Jackson, Josephine, So. Douglas, and Curry Counties. She’s also held Board and Advisory Council positions on Coalition for Kids, The Family Connection, Southern Oregon Early Learning Hub, and the South Coast Regional Early Learning Hub. She’s been active for over a decade with the Latinx Interagency Committee as part of the Steering Committee. She was recently appointed to the Oregon Health Authority’s PartnerSHIP, working to inform and develop the State Health Improvement Plan.


Catie Prechtel, Consultant, she/ella/ela

Catie Prechtel has a Ph.D. in Latin American Studies from Tulane University, with a focus in gender and sexuality studies and cultural studies in Latin America. She specializes in qualitative research methods, including focus group facilitation and semi-structured interviews, which she conducts in English and Spanish.

Catie graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Anthropology from Pacific University in Oregon in 2014. While at Pacific University, she co-taught poetry classes for Spanish-speaking immigrant women with the nonprofit Adelante Mujeres. Upon graduating, she continued to develop her teaching skills as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, from 2014-2015, and worked as an English teacher in the city from 2015-2016. In 2018 she completed her Master’s degree in Spanish & Latin American Studies at American University in Washington, D.C.. For her PhD dissertation at Tulane University, she explored how Mexican exótico wrestlers perform gender and sexual identities within lucha libre. During the 2021-2022 academic year she conducted her dissertation research as a visiting investigator affiliated with the CIEG (Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios de Género) at UNAM in Mexico City. Beyond gender and sexuality studies, she is interested in socially engaged art, visual arts, and the work of performance artists across the Americas.


Grace Prechtel, Consultant, she/her or they/them

  • M.A.T. in Teaching- Visual Arts, University of Portland

  • B.A. in Studio Arts, minor in Art History, Southern Oregon University

Grace graduated from University of Portland in May of 2023 with a masters in teaching, with a focus on visual arts. She is currently working as a middle school art teacher in the Portland-Metro area. Grace has worked in a variety of settings from museum work, retail, and the arts which allowed her to develop a multitude of skills involving retail management, working with the public, installation tech, and planning. As her experience in education grows Grace is working on data-based inquiry, equitable teaching practices, and graphic design.
